Bone marrow aspiration 04 inserting the Klima needle
  1. Iliac crest is immobilized in one hand between finger and thumb.
  2. Klima needle is inserted throught incision.
  3. Needle advanced through soft tissues, twisting and pushing until iliac crest is reached.
  4. Needle rotated to and fro while applying pressure. Needle enters bone cortex.
  5. Once needle is firmly in cortex, it is possible to move dog from side to side by moving needle.
