Introduction
- Three types of pancreatic tumor:
- Primary tumors of the exocrine pancreas (pancreatic adenocarcinoma)
. - Functional (ie insulin-producing) malignant tumors of the endocrine pancreas affecting the bets-islet cells (insulinoma)
. - Functional (ie gastrin-producing) malignant tumors of the pancreas (gastrinoma)

- Cause : unknown.
- Signs : abdominal pain, vomiting, anorexia, lethargy, pyrexia.
- Diagnosis : clinical signs, biochemistry, ultrasonography.
- Treatment : conservative, surgical resection.
- Prognosis : depending on nature of tumor but always guarded.
