Mark onto the axis the points corresponding to glucose measurements made throughout the day and join the points to form a curve.
If the patient is receiving twice daily insulin injections, it is sufficient to make serial blood glucose measurements over 12 hours (as shown here).
If once daily insulin injections are given the blood sampling must be continued for 24 hours or until blood glucose concentrations are raising on 2 consecutive samples.
